I have been a speech and language therapist since 1993 and have extensive experience working with stuttering, articulation, and voice disorders. I work with children (aged 5-18) and adults. Other specialties include learning disabilities or delays, language delays, articulation disorders, central auditory processing issues, attention deficits, executive functioning skills, reading and writing difficulties, test preparation, and study skills. I do not accept insurance.
I offer 1:1 and group classes for stuttering.
In addition, I work with singers, both on vocal development and on prevention and treatment of vocal injury.
Speech and language therapy can also be a pathway to self-discovery, renewal, and richer, more fulfilling self-expression.

Stuttering involves the mind, breath, body, and voice — and it can affect much more than speech. Because every person who stutters is different, treatment needs to be individualized, too.
I begin by getting to know your experience of stuttering: how you stutter, what you feel about it, the role it plays in your life, and the situations that make speaking easier or more difficult. I look at the different types of stuttering you experience — including sound and word repetitions, prolongations, and blocks — as well as the physical tension and anticipatory reactions that may accompany them.
From there, we develop an approach that addresses what you need. Our work may include breath, voice, physical tension, speech timing and coordination, working with blocks, and developing greater ease in real communication situations.
And we look beyond technique. We work on the fear, frustration, avoidance, or self-consciousness that can become part of living with a stutter.
